2018 Manitoba Winter Games: Hockey For Day 1 Newsletter
The 2018 Manitoba Winter Games Powered by Manitoba Hydro will be officially underway as of 8:30pm CST. With the official start of competition tomorrow comes the start of one of the marquee events of any winter games: hockey.
The boys’ hockey tournament, which will take place from
Monday until Wednesday, features the top bantam-aged players (13-14 years old)
from across the province.
The tournament will give the boys a chance to showcase their
talents for Hockey Manitoba, who will be looking to find potential Team
Manitoba players for the 2019 Canada Games in Red Deer, AB. The three day
tournament will also give players the opportunity to showcase what they have
for any WHL and MJHL scouts who may be in attendance. The WHL Bantam Draft is
coming up in early May, and many of the boys participating the Manitoba Games
will be hoping to hear their name called.
Tomorrow's action will kick off bright and early at 9:30 in the
C.A. Nesbitt arena with West 1 taking on Winnipeg Blue. The home team, Team
North, will being their quest for Manitoba Games gold tomorrow afternoon against Team
East.
